One Piece Leathers

Me & my bike (when it was new)
Being a begining road racer at one point myself, I know how confusing it can be to shop for leathers. I am here to help you chose your gear wisely. So the first thing I want to talk about is your
one piece leathers. Yes one piece not two piece. If you are getting on the track, most racing organizations require one piece leathers. Most street riders will argue that a two piece is just as good as long as it zips together to form a one piece. But ask any experienced road racer and they will tell you, one piece is the only way to go.
What to look for in your one piece leathers. Color, fit, and material. Why color? Because certain dyes affect the characteristic of the leather, causing it to weaken. Red, silver, and black are the strongest. Blue and green are the weakest. As far as fit is concerned, tighter is better. When you first put on your leathers, they should be extremely snug. Don't worry, the leather will stretch and then fit like a glove. Which brings me to the materials. There are some new race suits made from kangaroo. Keep in mind that kangaroo will not stretch as much as cow hide will.
Now we come to brands. There are a lot of brands of gear out there. Some are priced more than other but I would say that for the money, Alpinestars is the way to go. These are the products I use and love. Check out
this video for a little bit about Alpinestars.
One Piece Leathers is the only way to ride.
